Zahara is a cocktail bar located right on the Zeekant in Den Haag, offering stunning sea views alongside its creative drinks menu. Having been around since 1983, it’s a well-established spot known for its classic cocktails and relaxed atmosphere.
The vibe at Zahara is sophisticated yet comfortable. The space isn't overly large, which contributes to a more intimate feel. It's a popular spot for after-work drinks, pre-dinner cocktails, and relaxed evenings with friends. You'll find a mix of locals and tourists, creating a lively but not overwhelming atmosphere.
While not exclusively a gay bar, Zahara is known for its inclusive and welcoming atmosphere. Its central location and broad appeal mean it attracts a diverse clientele, including many LGBTQ+ individuals and couples who appreciate the friendly and unpretentious environment. The bar has a long history and reputation for being a safe and accepting space.
The focus at Zahara is definitely on the drinks. They offer a wide selection of cocktails, from classic recipes to their own creative concoctions. The location on the Zeekant also means they have a great terrace perfect for enjoying a drink while watching the sunset over the North Sea.
If you’re planning a visit, consider going a bit earlier in the evening to snag a spot on the terrace, especially during the warmer months. While there isn’t a strict dress code, most people tend to dress smart-casual.
