Over
Amsterdam Gay Shop, located on Spuistraat, is a combined adult shop and cinema catering to a diverse clientele. Operating under the name Man to Man, it offers a unique blend of erotic products and film screenings, making it a distinctive destination in Amsterdam's gay scene.
The atmosphere is somewhat retro, harking back to the '80s and '90s with a focus on a more intimate and perhaps niche experience. The shop area is compact, offering a curated selection of items, while the cinema offers a darker, more private vibe. The crowd tends to be a mix of locals and tourists interested in the specific type of films screened, particularly those with a "twink" theme.
This venue has a long history within the Amsterdam LGBTQ+ community, having been a meeting point for gay men interested in specific genres of film for decades. While not exclusively gay, the focus on male-oriented erotica and gay-themed cinema makes it a popular destination for those seeking this type of content. The shop's explicit content and the cinema's offerings are intentionally geared toward a specific segment of the LGBTQ+ population.
The main highlight is the combination of the shop and cinema experience. The cinema features two screens, one dedicated to "twink" films and the other offering a weekly rotation of different erotic movies. The shop provides a range of adult toys and accessories to complement the cinematic experience.
A practical tip: Given the cinema's small size and specific film selection, checking the schedule in advance is recommended. Be aware that the content is adult-oriented and may not be for everyone, so come with an open mind and a sense of curiosity.
