During World Pride Amsterdam 2026, an impressive and moving theater performance will be presented: 'I am who I am!'. This special project brings the stories, experiences, and voices of rainbow seniors to life.
In this performance, rainbow seniors share personal stories about their lives, their history, and their future. Candid and relatable stories that show how diverse and resilient this generation is. The stories are uniquely interspersed with music, creating a varied and compelling whole.
This initiative increases the visibility of rainbow seniors and contributes to awareness and connection. The performance shows how important it is to be yourself — at any age.
The first 'I am who I am!' performance took place on June 22, 2024, in Groningen. There, 'Aal goud' along with 12 rainbow seniors and 2 allies presented a diverse and colorful picture of Groningen's rainbow seniors. For World Pride Amsterdam, they will be joined by singer Mark Pepping, guest pianist Bart Winsingh, and guitarist Joost van der Beek. Singer Klaas Spekken will also make a guest appearance. "I am who I am" is an initiative of Roze50+ ambassador Marjet Bos.
