A new generation of artists is transforming electronic music, performances, and club nights into an entirely new experience. From London and New York, Loraine James, Anysia Kim, and 8ULENTINA bring an innovative sound that is both intense and intimate. Nothing Here Now – Transmission Interrupted celebrates trans, non-binary, and women artists who are pushing the boundaries of the sonic spectrum.
With a minimalist setup and unbound creativity, Loraine James fuses IDM glitch aesthetics with an improvisational, jazz-rooted spirit. On her latest Hyperdub record, Detached From The Rest Of You (2026) – half-jokingly dubbed her ‘IDM popstar album’ production is pared back to delicate clicks, glitches, and spacious arrangements, bringing her own voice further to the fore.
Bronx-born producer, drummer and singer Anysia Kym is part of a new generation of New York artists dissolving the boundaries between experimental electronics, R&B and electronic music. Following the breakout success of Truest (2024), she further expanded her sound on her latest alum Purity, her acclaimed collaboration with producer Tony Seltzer. Blending electronic glitch, UK jungle, soul and intimate songwriting, Kym creates music that is as emotionally direct as it is sonically adventurous.
New York-based electronic composer, interdisciplinary artist, and DJ 8ULENTINA combines expansive sound design with percussive intensity, storytelling, and theatricality. Drawing on his SWANA (Southwest Asia and North Africa) background, he engages with regional folk traditions and techniques such as improvisation and collaboration. This approach also underpins SILLAGE, his event series and record label.
The project of Amsterdam-based artist Lau Breukhoven, KROES explores the intersection of live performance and music technology. Driven by curiosity for nuance, the work unites technical experimentation with poetic sensibility, uncovering hidden histories and the beauty of the seemingly mundane.
For sign.nah, music is a vessel for release, channelling holy rage and sweet chaos to move the crowd. At the heart of their DJ sets is a deep love for bass-heavy sounds, sharp percussion, dub, and experimental club from the Global South.
Moderator El Bickers is a UK-born, Amsterdam-based author, researcher, and DJ whose work bridges deep archival research with the raw energy of the dance floor.
