WELCOME TO BIXARIA – a queer club night from Amsterdam where all 'rabas' are welcome to shake!
In Brazilian Portuguese, 'shaking your raba' means dancing with your butt up and down — celebrating yourself without worrying about what others think. It's about fun, creativity, and freedom in your body, together with others. BIXARIA plays contemporary Brazilian electronic music but is much more than an average club night. Performers and the audience create the night together. Each edition has a theme — so come dressed up, live your fantasy, and let go!
At BIXARIA, we don't assume anyone's gender, and it doesn't matter what you look like. This is a place for experimentation — in your own way, as you need it. We have a door policy and work with a Gender Awareness Team led by Mother Lucía: gender coach and floor manager, always present to support, guide, and watch over the well-being of our community throughout the night. Our space is primarily for immigrant, BIPOC, and experimental communities — the communities we are part of ourselves. But everyone who comes to support the vibe is welcome.
BIXARIA is organized by La Cigra$$ninha, an artist with community-driven projects in multiple countries.
Please read Bixaria's door policy carefully before buying a ticket, so you know what to expect from this evening.
