What does reclaiming my trans voice sound like?
MY VOICE IS NOT / WILL NEVER BE YOURS is a call to create a new world. Mara Snip invites the audience to imagine a future built on the foundations of abolitionist thinking, collective liberation, and shared care. As a trans warrior priestess, she embodies an alternative to the oppression of patriarchal and capitalist violence. She moves beyond what seems unchangeable and sings musical landscapes that reawaken the imagination.
Musically supported by Clara Cozzolini, she invokes creative power to initiate a transformative process for a life that flourishes in times of climate, health, political, and economic crisis. The world is in turmoil: it's time for a transfeminist gathering. This new vision is her hope, and she invites the audience to carry it together.
She will no longer be suppressed. She rises. She takes up space and sings.
She sings musical landscapes to get lost in.
She sings to find peace, to heal, and to dream.
She sings to give voice to the greater whole, to the many who came before her.
She will sing for those yet to come.
During O. Lab, you get a peek into the rehearsal space of theater makers, something normally reserved for a select few. Artists share their research questions with you, and as a visitor, you can give your valuable opinion on the prototypes and works-in-progress you see. An O. Lab is one big creative space, and you're in the front row of the creative process!
