Marije Bruinsma is a feminist techno-cult leader and self-proclaimed pop icon. The up-and-coming artist best describes herself as a cross between Charli XCX and Herman van Veen. With her bold lyrics, controversial humor, dirty beats, and bimbocore feminism, she's hard to miss on stage and in the media. Her work is an ode to the overly loud woman. Or, as she puts it: 'We still live in a world where women are expected to be modest. But modesty doesn't suit me. And I don't wear anything that doesn't look good on me.'

In 2020, Marije suddenly became an internet phenomenon, gaining fame with songs like 'Het Baarmoederlied' (The Uterus Song) and 'Tikkie na de Seks' (A Tikkie After Sex). She quickly built a large TikTok following. Last year, she released her first EP full of jazz and ska. Now, she's taking a different path. Where sweet arrangements once filled her songs, Marije now consciously chooses dirty beats and bold, literary lyrics that are inherently activist, obscene, hilarious, and controversial. She's no longer just on your phone; she also performed at Lowlands in 2025. Currently, Marije is working on her debut album 'ZELFVERHEERLIJKING OP TOPNIVEAU' (SELF-GLORIFICATION AT THE HIGHEST LEVEL): a mix of cunty techno, pink trap, activist drum-'n-bass, glitter punk, and screaming ska.
