Please join us in Amsterdam for a Queer story theme night combined with an open mic. The theme of the evening will be role models.
During the first part of the evening three authors will read from their work. Henk de Vries will read from his Grindr series, Thomas will read his story about Dorian, who fell victim to AIDS, and finally Tuaca Kelly will read from her poetry.
The second part of the evening will be an open stage for anyone who wishes to share their queer stories, poetry, songs. You will have a 5-minute time slot to read or perform your work. Please keep in mind the theme of the night, role models, to cherish those that inspire you most.

Henk B. de Vries founded the weekly LGBT History Tour in 2016. The project grew out of the books he read as a young teenager — already aware he was gay, yet still in the closet — searching for reflections of himself and a sense of belonging. Through the LGBT History Tour and his storytelling of queer history and topics, Henk seeks to give that history back to the community. His work frames storytelling as a form of activism: offering a different narrative, one that asks essential questions: What is our shared history? And what do we have in common?

Have you heard of the expression: 'never waste a good crisis?' Thomas has been applying it to his midlife crisis. He kicked some old habits and started getting up on stages. Sometimes he's a comedian, other times a storyteller or a poet. They say he's unapologetically gay. That's not true. He apologises in advance.

Hailing from multiple generations of Irish poets, musicians, and orators, Tuaca Kelly is an American poet, spoken word artist, songwriter, and dynamic emcee, most known for her unique wordplay, uncanny improvisation, unpredictable humor, presence and ability to connect with the audience.
