After a long pause, we're reclaiming our space together on wheels again. 💜
Five years ago, the Queer Skate Club started at Eye as a way to take up public space unapologetically, to skate, learn, connect, and exist visibly as queer people. Joy is resistance, and gathering is political.
We're so happy to be rolling together again.
A huge thank you to Jayliah for bringing their beautiful energy, helping revive the Queer Skate Club, and sharing their knowledge through a workshop for roller- and quad skates. Community only exists because people show up for one another, and we're grateful you're part of this new steps.
Whether you're a seasoned skater or stepping onto wheels for the first time, you belong here. Come take up space with us. Bring your wheels, your friends, and your queer joy.
The location is reachable by all wheels. A toilet is reachable for all wheels in the Eye film museum.
