A playful, welcoming rope hangout for the queer community and allies to explore shibari, connection, and silliness with safety and care. Includes an optional beginner's workshop.
Queertied invites you for a playful, welcoming rope hangout where everyone can tinker, tie, tumble, and learn — at their own pace and on their own terms. Whether you like to knot, be knotted, self-tie, or try a bit of everything, this is a space to explore queerness, connection, and silliness with safety and care.
About the Workshop
Beginner workshop: Single & Double Column Tie
During our monthly beginner workshop you will learn a bit about the history of Japanese bondage and why it is called shibari. We dive into safety aspects like nerve compression and the do’s & don’ts of tying with yourself or somebody else. After we’re done with that, we dive into the practical stuff of how to tie a single-column tie, a double-column tie and the basic principles of frictions. We give individual guidance and there is plenty of room for questions.
Entry level: You don’t need any prior knowledge or equipment. We have rope for lending.
About Queertied
Since November 2021, we have been hosting monthly events to create a safe(r) space for queer individuals of all kinds to explore shibari. We strive for an inclusive setting that celebrates the diversity of our bodies through the intimate, playful and creative practice of rope play and bondage.
