A double bill about identity in motion

In FUTURE VOICES, Nicole Beutler Projects presents the makers of the future. This season features Lucinda Wessels and Timo Tembuyser in a double bill about identity in motion. Lucinda's multidisciplinary dance duet Fluid Figures and Timo's post-porn pop concert Isle of Eros make a powerful plea against pigeonholing. In their own unique ways, they explore the malleability of identity and the fluidity of gender.

Fluid Figures

Fluid Figures is a physical and layered performance where dance, sound, and performance merge into a hybrid whole. From a queer, bi-cultural perspective, Lucinda Wessels embarks on an inner search for identity. The dancers embody different roles and perspectives, creating a dynamic where contrast and connection are simultaneously felt. Fluid Figures challenges the audience to let go of fixed boundaries and experience opposites as part of a single entity.

Isle of Eros

Isle of Eros is an erotic concert about 'the desire for unity,' where the longing to merge with another clashes with the desire to be a strongly defined individual. After several performances centered on the singing community, Timo Tembuyser now presents himself as a soloist. A quirky 'Master of Ceremonies' takes us on a journey in a post-porn pop concert. An ode to the wild man, to queerness, to sexuality, and to love.

About the Makers

Lucinda Wessels

Lucinda Wessels (1990) is a versatile artist who constantly reinvents herself and explores boundaries within the dance and art world. Her practice moves at the intersection of disciplines and identities, always searching for the in-between space. Besides her performances with The Dutch National Ballet, ISH, and Nicole Beutler Projects, she previously created other shows.

Timo Tembuyser

Timo Tembuyser (1991) is a singer, performer, composer, and theater maker. He combines his backgrounds in architecture, theater, music, and community work, often working with diverse ensembles. Music and space are always central. Timo composes polyphonic scores that weave different voices together as equals, in harmony and friction with each other, in resonance with the audience and the space.
