Annie, the American first-aid dummy, has survived heart attacks, endured drownings, and undergone endless mouth-to-mouth resuscitation. But how is she really doing?

In an honest, witty rollercoaster of observations and experiences, Margriet takes you into a woman's life. Her own. From a girl born into an orthodox Christian family who learned to stand on her own two feet and took self-defense classes at school, to being the editor-in-chief of Opzij and 'the first lesbian talk show host'. It all comes up, with the recurring question: has she gained ANYTHING from it? In a world where the West is reverting to old machinery?

The rhetoric about man and woman holds Margriet's deepest fears and recognition. It results in a confrontation you can't escape: past versus present, ideals versus reality.

Featuring, of course, the father, the pastor, and the holy Trump. Amen.

About the creator

Margriet van der Linden is a program maker, writer, and presenter. She had her own talk show M and made documentary series State of Hate (2024) and How To Be Gay (2018). Van der Linden was also the Mole in Wie is de Mol (2015), created a dryly comedic radio program Ramarmar with Martine Sandifort, and wrote books such as the acclaimed novel De liefde niet. In 2024, she won the Sonja Barend Award for the best interview with Liesbeth Zegveld on the program Zomergasten, which she also presented in 2009. Inspired by Hannah Gadsby, Van der Linden will take to the stage next season with Annie, are you ok?
