Celebrating the Rainbow Community
Presented by Winq, the largest queer magazine in the Netherlands, the Winq Awards are being held for the eighth time to honor various individuals and organizations for their contributions to the emancipation, acceptance, and visibility of the rainbow community.
The evening will be guided by two prominent voices from the Dutch queer community. Annefleur Schipper is a journalist and co-creator of the popular podcast De Lesbische Liga, which explores lesbian, bi+, and queer representation in media. The podcast itself was a recipient of the Winq Media Award in 2024. She will be joined by Sharvin Ramjan, a writer and moderator whose work often focuses on identity, representation, and societal norms. His 2025 book essay, Nooit genoeg, examines work, relationships, and identity from a queer perspective.
The Winq Awards have a history of recognizing a diverse range of public figures for their positive impact on the community. Past recipients include Mayor of Amsterdam Femke Halsema, the late artist Erwin Olaf, television personality Raven van Dorst, author Splinter Chabot, activist Sylvana Simons, and the creators of the acclaimed web series ANNE+. The ceremony aims to celebrate both established names and emerging talent who are driving change.
The program promises an evening of celebration, featuring the awards ceremony, live performances from queer artists, and a festive afterparty with music from DJ Darling Peter to conclude the night.
Standard tickets are €25. A reduced price of €20 is available for Winq subscribers. Each ticket includes a welcome drink, access to the full show and afterparty, and a complimentary copy of the special awards edition of Winq magazine. Please note that seating is unassigned.
