This event is organized by Meer dan Gewenst for those who want to specifically explore the possibility of starting a family with the help of a sperm donor (known donor or sperm bank donor) and for those considering becoming a donor.

This event is suitable for both prospective parents and donors who are still exploring their options, as well as for prospective parents who are further along in the process.

During this information session, experts by experience will share how their family was formed, the role the donor plays in their family's life, and how their children experience this family structure. There will be plenty of room to ask them questions. There is also ample opportunity to talk with other prospective parents to exchange considerations and experiences.

Furthermore, attention will be paid to the practical and legal aspects of such a journey. How do you choose a specific type of family structure with a donor (donor / donor+, friend / known, or via a sperm bank), how do you start a conversation with a potential known donor, what is important to discuss beforehand, and what needs to be arranged legally?

And what does all this look like from the donor's perspective? What role do you want to play in the child's life? How do you deal with a potential partner or your own children, and what does it feel like to have a child for whom you bear no responsibility?

Experts by experience (parents, donors, and children) will share their personal stories: how their family was formed, the role the donor plays, and how the children experience this family structure.
An interactive informational part where professionals provide practical and legal information: What are the possibilities? How do you approach a potential donor? What do you discuss beforehand? What needs to be legally arranged?
Fun interactive formats and break-out sessions to engage in conversation with each other.
Plenty of room for interaction and asking questions.

Afterwards, there will be a social drink, offering a chance to chat with other prospective parents and potential donors.
