Austra is the pop project of Canadian singer and composer Katie Stelmanis. The classically trained musician and opera lover writes sad lyrics about the humiliation of heartbreak, combined with euphoric, eurodance-inspired synth melodies.
Her brand new album 'Chin Up Buttercup' was released on November 14 2025, partly inspired by Madonna's 'Ray of Light' (1998).
