In Spring Fever, a man frequenting Nanjing’s gay nightlife becomes charmed by the photographer sent to spy on him by his lover’s wife. Love proves an all-consuming force these men have no choice but to submit to.
The film follows a private detective who falls in love with the adulterous man he is supposed to be observing. The resulting love triangle is the start of an obsessive affair full of lust, betrayal and illicit desires. The film was illegally filmed by director Lou Ye (Suzhou River).
