About the Performance
Acrobatic bodies contort into impossible positions. A live band immerses you in a sound bath of gothic, noise, and metal. out of hands is a dance and music performance about the dark side of being young.
In ancient myths, young people often symbolize purity, innocence, and hope, but behind that ideal image lies a very different world: that of bodies out of balance, dark thoughts, and burgeoning sexuality. For out of hands, choreographer Michiel Vandevelde gathered a group of dancers and metal musicians aged 15 to 24. Together, they take you on an intense trip into their underworld. Straight to the pain of being a teenager.
