Isabelle Kafando
ROF DAAIMUND is the new, all-encompassing alter ego of actress and comedian Isabelle Kafando (De Volkskrant Acting Talent 2024).
Directed by Peter van de Witte (Rundfunk, n00b), ROF puts on a show for you! Touching misfits and foolish posers follow one another in a freak show that, through your fits of laughter, makes you wonder if you're not just witnessing a nervous breakdown on stage.
Like a kind of Freek Vonk of the inner world, she grabs you by the throat and drags you through a jungle of characters who all understand life even less than you do. All characters struggle immensely with the question of who they really are, resulting in a display of social failures that will make you cry with recognition.
Rough stones that ROF finely polishes into unique diamonds. The comedy is sharp, fast, and constantly changing form. ROF is disarming but always hits the mark.
Just as you hide your identity crisis behind smooth talk and Instagram filters, ROF DAAIMUND polishes her characters until they seem almost human. Almost. Because let's be honest: nobody really knows who the f*ck they are.
Content warning: this performance contains scenes that will make you doubt your own mental stability. Not suitable for people who think they know themselves.
