You probably know her mainly for her dreamy indie-soul-bedroom-pop (hits like ‘Eugene’ and ‘Black Dog’), or her brand-new album Ambiguous Desire, but the London-based singer-songwriter Arlo Parks (GBR, 2000) is also a poet! In 2023, her poetry debut The Magic Border was released, in which she explores themes like being queer, grief, trauma, and love. During the Poetry International Festival, Arlo Parks will give a unique poetry masterclass; see it as a glimpse into her creative process, where she explores how complex feelings can be transformed into poetry and how that alchemy of writing can be a form of healing. What does she find important when writing poems? What does poetry offer her – perhaps what music cannot, or as a complement to her music? Be inspired by this global star!
During the masterclass, there will also be an opportunity to ask questions.
Please note: On Friday evening, Arlo Parks will perform again; she will be interviewed and give a unique poetry performance during the Poetry International Festival.
