More than a rainbow flag: how to ensure inclusion in your organization

On Coming Out Day, we reflect on the fact that everyone should be able to be who they are, regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity. Unfortunately, we also see that this is not always possible. We want to show what is normal: that everyone can be themselves in The Hague. That's why RADAR, the municipality of The Hague, and Knowledge Center IDEM are organizing this meeting.

What can you expect?

During the meeting, we bring together professionals, administrators, policymakers, social organizations, and experts by experience. Not to re-establish that inclusion is important, but to explore together what concrete steps are needed to make a difference. We will have this conversation with speakers from Roze in Blauw Haaglanden, COC Haaglanden, and Holistische TransSupport Den Haag, among others. Expect inspiring people, sustainable encounters, and practical tools to move forward yourself.

We offer a safe space for people who want to turn the tide. Are you part of the LHBTIQA+ community? Or are you an 'ally' who wants to combat discrimination against LHBTIQA+ people and promote equal treatment? Then you can register for our meeting for free!

15:20 – Inclusion under pressure: national developments and perspectives for action by Niki Haringsma (Kenniscentrum IDEM)
15:30 – Panel discussion with Maaike Frankena (COC Haaglanden), Tarim Nduma Flach (Holistische TransSupport), Jean Bernard (Queer Mind), and Hans van Nieuwkasteele (Roze in Blauw Police Unit The Hague)
16:00 – Break
16:30 – Practical workshops focusing on the themes of safety, education, care & welfare, and inclusive leadership

About the Speakers

Roze in Blauw Haaglanden

Roze in Blauw Haaglanden is the national network of the police. LHBTIQA+ persons can report here when they experience discrimination, threats, assault, or other criminal offenses related to their sexual orientation or gender identity.

COC Haaglanden

COC Haaglanden is committed to the emancipation, acceptance, and equal rights of LHBTIQA+ people in the Haaglanden region. They believe in a society where everyone can be themselves in freedom and safety, regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, or sex characteristics.
