Martin Luttikholt is once again organizing a city walk along former nightlife spots for queers in Tilburg during the 70s and 80s. Where did queers go out back then if they were gay or lesbian? Where can you find queer history in Tilburg? The walk is co-organized by the Tilburg Regional Archive and COC Tilburg-Breda and surroundings.
The walk starts at the Tilburg Regional Archive, where a small collection of documents is on display, showing how little of the LGBTI+ history in Tilburg and its surroundings has been preserved. Preservation is important, because no documents, no history. Afterwards, Martin will guide the participants past cafes, meeting places, and the first COC building of that era. There is also an important story about the city's queer history to be told at the cemetery on Bredase Weg.
