The AIDS epidemic is spreading, but it is being silenced by the conservative government. People are dying in nameless graves and there is no cure.
'Angels' captures the turbulent lives of various characters struggling with existential feelings of fear, love, and identity. Prior Walter has just been told he has AIDS. His lover, Louis Ironson, struggles with guilt and desire. He leaves Prior for Joe Pitt, a Mormon lawyer involved in conservative politics. Joe's wife, Harper, gets lost in a haze of Valium as her marriage is on the verge of collapse. The infamous lawyer Roy Cohn, a historical figure, comes face to face with his own demons. All the characters in 'Angels' try to escape the harsh reality in their own way, but do they succeed? Do they lose themselves in their own illusion? Or do they come back stronger?
