The Queen Has Returned!

Break out the glitter and prepare your feelings, because the long wait is finally over. Swedish pop icon and beloved queer hero Robyn has officially announced her ninth studio album, 'Sexistential', set to grace our playlists on March 27. This marks her first full-length project since the critically adored 2018 masterpiece, 'Honey'.

To celebrate the announcement, she’s gifted us not one, but two brand new tracks: the bold title track 'Sexistential' and the infectious pop gem 'Talk To Me'.

A New Era of Unapologetic Sensuality

Never one to shy away from complex, deeply personal themes, Robyn is pushing boundaries once again. The title track, 'Sexistential', is described as a rap about navigating one-night stands while ten weeks pregnant after undergoing IVF. It's a raw, witty, and incredibly modern take on sexuality and motherhood that only Robyn could deliver.

"It was my cue," she said in a statement. "I have to do this, I have to write a rap about IVF."

The second single, 'Talk To Me', sees her reuniting with pop maestro Max Martin for the first time since 2010's 'Time Machine'. It's a slice of pure, unadulterated fun born from a time of isolation. "I wrote it during the pandemic when there was no way to be physical," Robyn explained. "I like talkers, that turns me on.”

A Philosophy to Live By

Co-produced with longtime collaborator Klas Åhlund, the album explores sensuality as a core part of life and creativity. Robyn shared a powerful mission statement for this new era that resonates deeply:

"I feel like the purpose of my life is to stay horny – it doesn’t even have to be about sex, but it’s feeling sensual and attracted to things that I enjoy, and not letting anything take over that."

This embrace of sensuality as a life force is a powerful message, especially for a community that has long championed self-love and the celebration of desire in all its forms.

'Sexistential' Tracklist:

  • 1. ‘Really Real’
  • 2. ‘Dopamine’
  • 3. ‘Blow My Mind’
  • 4. ‘Sucker For Love’
  • 5. ‘It Don’t Mean A Thing’
  • 6. ‘Talk To Me’
  • 7. ‘Sexistential’
  • 8. ‘Light Up’
  • 9. ‘Into The Sun’

The album will be available on CD, digital, and multiple vinyl formats. With her recent return to the stage in the US, we're keeping our fingers crossed for a European tour that will let us all cry, dance, and feel horny together very soon.
