A Space to Connect: New Discussion Groups for Queer Elders in Leiden

LEIDEN – A thoughtful new initiative is set to provide a welcoming space for LGBTQ+ seniors in Leiden. Titled "In Gesprek Over Ouder Worden" (In Conversation About Aging), this series of free group discussions is a collaboration between UP! Nederland, a national foundation focused on meaningful aging, and the local Roze Salon.

The program aims to create a safe and open environment where community members can share personal experiences, listen to their peers, and explore significant life themes. Each 90-minute session will be guided by a trained facilitator, ensuring conversations are both supportive and constructive. To make the gatherings even more comfortable, coffee and snacks will be provided free of charge.

What to Expect

These sessions are more than just a chat; they are structured conversations around topics that resonate deeply with the experience of aging within the LGBTQ+ community. From reflecting on the past to contemplating the nature of family and love, the themes are designed to spark meaningful dialogue.

Full Schedule & Locations

The discussions are spread across three accessible community centers in Leiden, with all sessions starting at 13:30 (1:30 PM). Find the location and theme that speaks to you:
