The countdown is officially on for what is basically our community's own Eurovision. On Saturday, October 24, 2026, the 30th edition of the COC Songfestival will bring all the glitter, drama, and questionable key changes to the Haventheater in IJmuiden. It's a night to celebrate queer creativity and, let's be honest, to live out our pop star fantasies.

But who holds the power? Who will be tasked with separating the bops from the flops? The jury for this milestone anniversary is a fascinating mix of industry legends and fresh queer voices. Let's meet the four people who will be awarding the coveted douze points.

Cornald Maas

You can't have a Dutch song contest without the man who has become synonymous with it. Cornald Maas, the voice that guides the Netherlands through the Eurovision Song Contest every year, will be on the panel. His knowledge of what makes a three-minute performance work is unparalleled. Plus, he's no stranger to our community events, often serving as the jury chairman for Amsterdam's Canal Parade. He knows spectacle.

Leona Philippo

Bringing the powerhouse vocal credentials is Leona Philippo. Many will know her from her triumphant win on The Voice of Holland in 2013, but her talent is incredibly versatile. She's a singer-songwriter who has toured internationally, an actress you've seen in shows like Netflix's De Eetclub, and she even won the celebrity conducting competition Maestro. She'll be listening for pure vocal talent and undeniable stage presence.

Gavin Reijnders

For a perspective that's sharp, witty, and unapologetically queer, we have Gavin Reijnders. After his hit debut show Glittermoe (a state of being we can all relate to), Gavin has cemented himself as a vital voice in Dutch comedy. He's one of us, and the COC even recognized his work for LGBTQ+ visibility with the 'Bob Angelo Star of the Future' award. He'll be looking for authenticity, smarts, and a healthy dose of chaos.

Brigitte Kaandorp

Rounding out the panel is a true icon of the Dutch stage, Brigitte Kaandorp. With a career spanning over four decades, she is a master of cabaret, songwriting, and performance. She's won prestigious awards for her clever and heartfelt lyrics, and she understands how to command a room with just a song. She brings a deep well of artistic wisdom and will be judging the craft behind the camp.
