Get Ready for a Weekend of Unforgettable Queer Cinema in Amsterdam!

Mark your calendars, film lovers! The International Queer & Migrant Film Festival (IQMF) is making a grand return to Amsterdam for a special 'Weekender' event from December 5-7, 2025. In partnership with the iconic cinema LAB111, the festival is set to deliver a powerful program celebrating identity, inclusion, and community.

Following their 10th-anniversary celebrations last summer, IQMF is keeping the momentum going. This weekend isn't just about watching films; it's about continuing vital conversations. Timed to honor International Human Rights Day (December 10th), the program is a curated exploration of queer lives, struggles, and triumphs from around the globe.

Highlights on the Big Screen

The lineup is a fantastic mix of feature-length films and curated short programs that promise to challenge, entertain, and inspire. Here are a few highlights you won't want to miss:

  • The Life of Sean DeLear (Dutch Premiere): Get an intimate look into the world of the legendary LA underground artist, musician, and punk icon in this compelling documentary.
  • Queer as Punk: Explore the raw, rebellious energy of the queer punk scene and its lasting impact on music and culture.
  • Chinese Queer Shorts: This special program offers a rare and important glimpse into contemporary LGBTQ+ narratives and filmmaking from China.
  • Body Queer Shorts: A collection of short films delving into the diverse ways we experience and express our identities through our bodies.

More Than Just Movies: A Celebration of Community

It's not all sitting in the dark! The festival wraps up on a high note with 'My House Is Your House', a vibrant dance workshop led by the talented Kim Tawjoeram. It's the perfect opportunity to connect with the community, celebrate self-expression, and move your body in a safe and welcoming space.
