Meeting every Wednesday evening at the RITA Community Center on Reguliersdwarsstraat, the choir is open to all members of the LGBTQIA+ community. According to the organisers, there are no auditions required to join, with a focus placed on connection and collective musical expression rather than formal performance standards.
The repertoire will consist of a mix of pop, soul, and songs described as "queer anthems." The sessions are designed to help members build vocal confidence and learn harmony in a group setting.
A Space for Vocal Exploration
The Queer Keys places a specific emphasis on being an affirming space for all its members. The organisers note that transgender individuals who are undergoing voice changes or wish to experiment with their vocal range are particularly encouraged to join.
