UTRECHT - The Dom Tower, the city's most prominent historical landmark, will transform into a central hub for local Pride celebrations this year. For four days in early June, the tower will host the 'Pride Café', offering a diverse program of events for the LGBTQ+ community and its allies.

The initiative aims to create a central meeting point during Utrecht Pride, providing a unique setting for community members to connect, celebrate, and engage with queer culture. The café will operate on June 3, 4, 5, and 7, with a bar managed by local brewery VandeStreek.

Scheduled Program

The four-day event features a wide range of activities, from lighthearted entertainment to in-depth discussions. The schedule includes:

  • Monday, June 3: The week kicks off with Queer Hitsterbingo XXL, a large-scale bingo game based on queer music hits. Later, "De Roze Bubbel op het Hoogste Punt" (The Pink Bubble at the Highest Point) will present a variety show featuring kleinkunst, pole dancing, stand-up comedy, drag, and live music.
  • Tuesday, June 4: The program continues with "Kortsluiting in Café Fataal" (Short Circuit in Café Fataal), an event designed to foster deeper conversations and connection. This is followed by "Pink Brick Road," an interactive evening that includes queer history, bias games, make-overs, a catwalk, and a pub quiz.
  • Wednesday, June 5: Test your knowledge at the first-ever Utrecht Pride Pubquiz, focusing on local and international LGBTQ+ history. The evening also features a Whacking Exhibition Battle, where dancers from Rays of Sunshine will showcase the dynamic dance style. The night concludes with "Let’s Kii," a panel talk on ballroom, pride, and intersectionality. Please note: This panel will be conducted in English.

The Pride Café offers a distinct opportunity to experience Utrecht Pride from within one of the city's most significant architectural symbols. It marks a notable moment of visibility, placing community celebration at the physical heart of the city.

Tickets and further information for the specific events are available through the official Dom Tower website.
