An online showcase dedicated to LGBTQ+ video games and their creators will be featured as an official partner of this year's Summer Game Fest. The 'Gayming Pride Parade', organized by Gayming Magazine, is scheduled to stream on Saturday, June 6 at 21:00 CEST for viewers in the Netherlands and across Europe.

The event will be broadcast on the official YouTube and Twitch channels of The Game Awards, a major industry platform. Its inclusion in the Summer Game Fest schedule places it alongside presentations from some of the world's largest game publishers, offering significant visibility for the featured queer creators.

Summer Game Fest has become a key period for the video game industry, filling the role once held by the E3 conference as the primary time for new game announcements and updates. The Gayming Pride Parade aims to create a dedicated space within this busy schedule to specifically highlight LGBTQ+ contributions to the medium.

What to Expect

The showcase will be hosted by streamer MiladyConfetti and Jax, a former contestant on the television series RuPaul’s Drag Race. The presentation is expected to feature world premieres, new gameplay footage, release date announcements, and insights from developers.

A number of independent games have been confirmed for the event, including:

  • Wylde Society
  • Neon Death Drop
  • Art of Solitaire
  • Spill the Beans

Organizers have stated that additional titles and partners will be revealed closer to the broadcast date. The event is presented with support from publisher Fireshine Games.

In a statement, Victoria Kershaw of developer Studio Drydock noted that showcases like this create meaningful opportunities for LGBTQ+ developers to share their work with wider audiences. Mark Shteller, founder of Diamond Dust Games, added that being part of the event is an opportunity to connect with players who are looking for fresh perspectives in gaming.

The broadcast aligns with the start of Pride Month and aims to celebrate the creativity and storytelling of LGBTQ+ voices within the global games industry. Viewers can tune in via The Game Awards' channels on June 6.
