MAASTRICHT - Organisers of Pride Maastricht have confirmed the details for the opening event of this year's festivities: the Pride March on Thursday, June 27. The demonstration will gather at Mosae Forum at 11:00 AM, with a clear message underpinning the day's activities: "Pride is still a Protest."

The march aims to increase visibility for the LGBTQ+ community in Limburg and will proceed through some of Maastricht's most well-known streets and squares before concluding with a community gathering.

The Route Through Maastricht

The procession will depart from Mosae Forum and follow a planned path through the city centre to its final destination. The full route is as follows:

  • Mosae Forum
  • Kesselskade
  • Maastrichter Brugstraat
  • Kleine Staat & Grote Staat
  • Vrijthof
  • Bredestraat
  • Onze Lieve Vrouweplein
  • Cortenstraat & Sint Pietersstraat
  • Begijnenstraat
  • Sint Pieterskade & Van Heylerhofflaan
  • Tapijnkazerne

Accessibility and Participation

The organisers have confirmed that the entire route is wheelchair accessible. For those who may find the full march challenging, an alternative is available. Participants can join the gathering at Mosae Forum and then travel directly to the final destination at Tapijnkazerne to await the arrival of the procession.

Community Gathering at Tapijnkazerne

The march will conclude at the historic Tapijnkazerne, a former military barracks now part of the university campus. Upon arrival, participants and the public will find a market with various food vendors, providing a space for the community to gather after the demonstration.

In line with the protest theme, attendees are encouraged to bring their own banners, signs, and chants to voice their messages of support, solidarity, and the ongoing fight for equal rights.
