Troye Sivan has released the first single and music video from his next musical project, teaming up with fellow Australian star Nicole Kidman for the song "She's the Best." The video sees Sivan taking center stage in a packed club, with Kidman watching from the crowd.
Directed by Gordon Von Steiner, who previously worked with Sivan on the videos for "Rush" and "One of Your Girls," the clip is set in a dimly lit, energetic club environment. The audience is filled with drag performers, including a notable appearance by "RuPaul's Drag Race" winner Sasha Colby. Kidman is seen observing Sivan's performance before the two appear together near the video's conclusion.
The track serves as the lead single and title track for Sivan's fourth studio album, She's the Best, which is scheduled for release on October 9. The song was co-written by Sivan with Jack Antonoff, George Daniel, Leland, and Kaeyln Behr.
In a press release, Sivan described the album as a project that "captures my life in all of its moods and colours." He added, "It explores the high-octane highs of the last few years, and the solitude and longing that sat underneath. It’s chaotic, layered, organic, troubled and alive... At some point along the way I realised – the only constant in my life keeping me somewhat sane has not been the work, or the men, but the feminine. Thank god for them.”
