As Amsterdam prepares to host WorldPride in the summer of 2026, the city will also become the central hub for the global bi+ community. The Bi+ World Conference is scheduled for July 28, 29, and 30, 2026, creating a dedicated space for connection, knowledge-sharing, and celebration.

Organised by Bi+ Nederland and Bi+ Equal, the three-day event aims to bring together bi+ individuals and activists from all continents. The conference is positioned as a key component of the wider WorldPride programme, ensuring bi+ voices and experiences are central to the global LGBTQ+ gathering.

A Programme Focused on Identity, Activism, and Community

The preliminary programme reveals a deep and varied exploration of the bi+ experience. Rather than focusing on a single narrative, the sessions span research, creative expression, and practical community building. The schedule is designed to foster interaction and address pressing issues within the community.

Highlights from the planned sessions include:

  • Intersectionality and Identity: Workshops like 'The Edge of Queer: Lessons in Liberation from Bisexual Asian Women' and 'Racial inclusivity in Bi+ Communities' will address the diverse experiences within the bi+ umbrella. Another session, 'Beyond any Norm: Celebrating the Neurodivergent Bi+ Experience', creates a dedicated space for the intersection of bi+ identity and neurodiversity.
  • Global Activism and Research: Panels will feature researchers and activists from various continents discussing global bi+ research and strategies for advocacy. Sessions such as 'Bisexual Persecution in Bangladesh' and 'Rooted and Resistant: Bi+ Resilience Across Hostile Contexts' will shed light on the challenges and resilience of bi+ communities worldwide.
  • Creative and Healing Spaces: The conference will also feature creative outlets, including a screening of the documentary 'De Bi Kwestie (The Bi Issue)', a fashion performance titled 'This is not a Phase!', and reflective workshops like 'Step Bi Step: Healing Our Younger Bi+ Selves'.

The programme aims to cater to a wide audience, from those new to their identity to seasoned activists and academic researchers, with formats ranging from interactive workshops and panel discussions to film screenings and creative sessions.

How to Attend

Registration for the Bi+ World Conference is now open to all participants. The organisers have established a scholarship fund to support attendance for individuals with limited financial means, with applications for the scholarship available through the registration portal.

  • Dates: Tuesday, 28 July – Thursday, 30 July 2026
  • Location: Amsterdam
  • Registration Deadline: Monday, 13 July 2026 at 23:59 CEST.

Full details on the schedule, locations, and registration can be found on the official conference website. The event represents a significant opportunity for the Dutch bi+ community to connect with international peers and contribute to a global conversation during WorldPride Amsterdam.
