Brussels is set to host a significant event for the European bear community this October, with a notable Dutch influence. As part of the 15th anniversary of Belgium Bear Pride, local party organisers CAVE will collaborate with Amsterdam's well-known Bear-Necessity for 'Bears Attack', the official afterparty for the Mr Bear Belgium 2026 election.
The event will take place on Saturday, 3 October, at Barrio in central Brussels, running from 23:00 until 07:00 the next morning.
A Broader Celebration of Bear Culture
This year's Belgium Bear Pride runs under the theme "Bear Folies," a concept intended to celebrate a wide spectrum of masculinity, from traditional leather aesthetics to sequins and heels. The 'Bears Attack' party aims to reflect this inclusive spirit on the dancefloor.
The organisers have stated that the event is open to "bears, cubs, otters, admirers and everyone in between," welcoming people of any size, age, or gender identity. The focus is on creating an environment centered on respect and consent, a principle that resonates with many contemporary queer nightlife events.
Dutch and International DJ Lineup
The music for the night will be provided by a trio of DJs, including a familiar name from the Amsterdam scene. BE-RIK, a resident at Bear-Necessity, will bring his mix of driving techno and groovy basslines. He will be joined by Ibiza-based DJ BALIBREA, known for sets that span house, tech house, and techno, and CAVE's own resident and co-founder, THOMAS M.
The collaboration with Bear-Necessity provides a direct link for the Dutch queer community, connecting two major European bear scenes for the anniversary celebration.
