Before the World Pride Opening Event in the Max and OZ, Rapido presents the groundbreaking 90s comedy 'The Birdcage' in our Cinema, with an introduction by Nico van den Berg. Half-price tickets are available for visitors of the club night!
Armand Goldman (Robin Williams) owns Birdcage, a nightclub in South Beach, Miami. He lives above the club with his partner Albert (Nathan Lane), who is the main act at Birdcage, performing as the drag queen Starina. Their fabulous life is disrupted when Armand's son gets engaged to the daughter of the ultra-conservative Senator Kevin Keeley (Gene Hackman). Keeley's political future is at stake due to a colleague's sex scandal, and he sees meeting his future in-laws as a perfect escape from media attention. But what happens when it turns out that this extraordinary family doesn't meet his ideal at all?
