Maybe you'll see me suddenly appear, so fast that I become invisible. Maybe you'll see me dance among my invisible friends, and a song I sing will linger in your head for a long time. But was I ever really there? Or did I only exist for a moment in your imagination? Have you already forgotten me?
In ‘vanishing acts’, Felix Schellekens explores those moments in life when temporality becomes palpable. Everything disappears: our surroundings change, you yourself change, and everything you try to hold onto slips through your fingers sooner or later. How do you learn to embrace the loneliness that comes with the realization that everything is constantly in motion?
Felix plays, sings, and dances along the fault lines of existence, where reality and imagination merge. This debut as a theater maker is an intimate reflection on the inevitable disappearance and an invitation to see the beauty of change.
Please note: This performance contains many sensory stimuli (light and/or sound).
"In vanishing acts, Felix Schellekens finds a beautiful balance between physical play and imagination, in spectacularly subdued theatrical images and poetically designed disappearing tricks."
