BECOMING: Queering your Friday night with fluid theater, dialogue, art and party.

BECOMING is a fluid bubble full of depth. Each edition is unique and offers a new queer perspective on identity and sexuality. Spectators and artists immerse themselves together in intimacy, party, sensuality, dialogue, art and glitter! At BECOMING, more is better, vulnerability is strength, party is depth and everyone is queer!

BECOMING Ageless

An evening in which we shine a light on the queer people on whose shoulders we stand, celebrate their stories and make space for everything they can teach us about being queer, both then and now.

BECOMING Adopted

Alongside program partner and expert by experience David Paul Ramharak-Peters, we explore what it means to grow up in a Dutch family while your roots lie on a different continent. This evening is exclusively dedicated to the perspectives of queer artists with an adoption background, told through the ever-intersectional and decolonial BECOMING lens.

BECOMING A Pleasure Activist

This program offers a moment of rest for world changers, because pleasure activism as a movement places joy, healing, and happiness at its center. This evening, we explore how we can make social justice the most joyful human experience. Free yourself from the idea that changing the world comes down to even more work!

BECOMING Softness

This evening is all about self-love, slowing down, and all-around fluffiness. We remind ourselves that we are fantastic and help each other in this affirmation. By de-stimulating, we recharge and collectively unravel the effects of capitalism on our health. We shake off the pressure to perform and focus on joy, love & care! It is an ode to the ideas of Tricia Hersey: Rest is resistance.

Dresscode: Pyjama, fluffy, relaxed

Language

BECOMING is always a mix of English (80%) and Dutch (20%), with non-linguistic elements. The event will be presented in simple English. Some performances might be in Dutch. If you don’t speak Dutch, you will still be able to follow most of it!
