Driven by the pride of large, powerful egos, our world seems to be increasingly out of balance. At the same time, for others, pride is a foothold: a way to counterbalance a society where the space for difference is shrinking. Pride is fragile and constantly in motion; an emotion that can motivate and inspire admiration, but also discourage us when we lose our grip.
On stage is a giant balance board that never stands still. A group of young queer makers explores how pride arises and feels. They run, balance, fall, laugh, and cry; sometimes they hide, sometimes they let loose completely.
The exhibition investigates the processes behind pride. Through movement, visual installations, and a short documentary, the makers show their personal perspective. When do you feel pride? And who is allowed to be proud?
Together, the performance and the exhibition form an honest and personal story about pride, seen through the eyes of young queer makers who question us and dare to push the boundaries.
