Come have a fun hangout or picnic with other trans* (and queer) people! We will provide some snacks fidgets toys.
The importance of community for trans people cannot be understated. Due to the discrimination we often face in our day-to-day lives, it is essential for us to be able to come together in a safer environment and spend time with people who can understand and share in our experiences. Therefore, twice a month on a Thursday and a Sunday, we organise picnics/hangouts, which are intended to be low-key social situations where we can just share some snacks, rest and build connections. Sign-ups are not required.
This event is non-sober, which means that some mild/casual substance use is allowed.
This event is also allows non-trans participants. The intention of this is to lower the barrier to entry for who needs this, for example if someone is unsure whether they identify as trans*, or would like to bring along a cisgender queer friend or family member.
The Griftpark is a lively, modern park located near the centre of Utrecht. It has several facilities, including a skatepark, a restaurant, a flower garden and a petting zoo. We organise picnics and hangouts here. Public toilets are available.
