LoveLoveXL is a day full of fascinating speakers and inspiring workshops, concluding with a concert featuring the LoveLove band, Roi Soleil, and Hanne de Vries. You don't want to miss it!

About Keynote Speaker Kathy Baldock

Kathy Baldock is an author, LGBTQIA+ activist, and speaker. She is an expert on LGBTQIA+ issues in the US, especially concerning discrimination from the conservative Christian church and politics. Her book ‘Walking the Bridgeless Canyon’ and accompanying podcasts and blogs discuss the history of LGBTQIA+ discrimination in the church and call on conservative Christians to better treat LGBTQIA+ people in their churches.

At LoveLoveXL, Kathy will speak about her new book. In it, she describes that the idea that the Bible unequivocally condemns homosexuality is not an age-old truth, but the result of modern translation choices. Baldock takes us to the turning point in 1946, when the word ‘homosexual’ first appeared in an English Bible translation, with major consequences for the church and society.

Roi Soleil

Roi Soleil – the Sun King – makes ‘Frenglish pop with a dash of queer glitter’. The repertoire is about (self)love, sexuality, and identity, moving between quirky dance-pop and epic arena bangers. Roi Soleil is the superhero version of Matthijs, a boy trying to fix his teenage trauma with a golden crown (made of zip ties).

Hanne de Vries

After twenty years in the Christian music world, an inner shift led to a courageous break. Now, three years later, Hanne returns. Just as Hanne, from his own inner world with everything that lives there: faith and doubt, hope and disappointment, light and shadow. Hanne is back, and he sounds more like himself than ever before.

The LoveLove Band

Formed in 2022 for the first LoveLove concert, this diverse group of musicians finds common ground in their love for music. With an infectious repertoire, they create a party that bursts off the stage.

Gospel Music Workshop with Giordano: Discover the energy and connection of singing contemporary American gospel music together.
Workshop by Wondermooi: An exploration of identity beyond labels, inspired by Biblical role models.
Historical Walk in Utrecht: A guided tour of the city's historical gems.
Quiz: A spectacular quiz with prizes, full of fun and brain-teasers.
Docu 'I am who I am': A screening of a documentary following the journey of Emily Boone, followed by a Q&A with the makers.

About LoveLove

LoveLoveXL is a special edition of the Lovelove concerts. The first concert was organized in 2022 to support pastor Alexander Noordijk after a band canceled a performance in his church due to his homosexuality. This special edition is organized by Kleurrijk Samen, Holybe, ChristenQueer, and LCC+.
