Step into an enchanted forest with the Hiking Queers for a magical autumn adventure. This hike embraces a 'fairycore' and '#fallmaxxing' theme, inviting you to enjoy the seasonal splendour of the Dutch landscape. It's a perfect opportunity for a day of queer frolicking in the woods.
The group will tackle the 18-kilometer NS Belmonte hike, starting from Ede-Wageningen station and ending in the city of Wageningen. The trail winds through the southern edge of the Veluwe, beginning at Landgoed Hoekelum. Along the way, you'll pass prehistoric burial mounds and follow the scenic Molenbeek stream.
As the path continues, it ascends the Wageningse Berg, offering stunning views over the Rhine river and the Betuwe area. The hike is rated as moderate to hard due to its length and some hilly, potentially muddy sections.
The day concludes in the student city of Wageningen, where participants can enjoy a well-earned drink together before heading home.
