Welcome to the TUB Spoken Word event. A safer and braver space for members of the TUB community to have our lived experiences and expressions, seen, felt, and heard.
This spoken word event will have a guiding theme. It will be curated into two halves. The first half will be for individuals who have signed up ahead of time. During a brief intermission, with drinks and snacks, attendees will have the chance to sign up for the second half. Examples of content for the event can be (rhythmic) poetry, story telling, rap, singing, and readings. The content of the acts will be selected based on the theme of the evening, while considering the content of other performances. This is to allow for the widest possible array of performance types.
We invite you to use it as an inspiration or writing prompt, but we will also welcome poems that center other trans experiences.
So many people within our community end up surrounding themselves with a family not that they were born into, but that they found and chose themselves. Our connections go beyond tradition, our traditions go beyond expectations. Who do you have around you? Did you find them? Did they find you? Who do you love to love?
We are looking forward to all your lovely pieces.
Savannah Bay is the successor to the first women's bookstore in the Netherlands, making it one of the oldest in the country. They often advocate for LGBT people in the Netherlands, and we may use their space for our events. During our events you can quietly rifle through the books and flyers in the shop. Do you want to make a purchase? During most of our events, the register can be opened.
A wheelchair ramp is available. The toilet is fairly cramped, and does not fit a wheelchair.
