Jae-hee and Heung-soo meet at university, where they find each other in their feeling of being different and misunderstood. The free-spirited and outspoken Jae-hee refuses to conform and faces criticism, while the quiet and reserved Heung-soo keeps his true self hidden for fear of coming out. Together, they experience freedom and acceptance, although their close friendship is often misunderstood, especially when they start living together. As they build their own lives side by side, their inseparable bond brings joy, comfort, and sometimes complications.
Based on the novel by Park Sang-young, Love in the Big City paints a moving portrait of young adulthood under the pressure of city life. Over a period of ten years in Seoul, we follow Jae-hee and Heung-soo through the highs and lows of their lives, from love and heartbreak to loss and social and familial expectations. With strong chemistry between Kim Go-eun and Steve Sanghyun Noh, this is an ode to friendship.
