Titled 'In Touch', the exhibition is a collaboration between the International Queer & Migrant Film Festival (IQMF) and the recently launched Queer Gallery. It will be on display in the souterrain of LAB111 from April 30th to May 10th.
The collection focuses on the multifaceted ways queer individuals relate to one another and their environment. Through the lens of photography, the works delve into themes of intimacy, identity, and the artistic representation of the queer form, moving beyond simple visibility to question how these bodies are read and understood in an art context.
International and Local Artists
The exhibition features a mix of Dutch and international talent, providing a range of perspectives on the central theme. The participating artists are:
- Ame Blary (France)
- Henri Blommers (The Netherlands)
- Jasper Groen (The Netherlands)
- Marvel Harris (The Netherlands)
- Ohm Phanphiroj (Thailand)
- Prins de Vos (The Netherlands)
- Vénus Visconti (France)
Among the Dutch artists is Marvel Harris, whose self-portraiture work often documents his personal journey with gender transition and mental health. Also exhibiting is Prins de Vos, who is the founder of the Queer Gallery platform itself.
About the Organizers
This exhibition marks an early project for Queer Gallery, an international platform founded in 2024 by Prins de Vos. The gallery was established to create a dedicated network for queer artists, connecting them with cultural institutions, new audiences, and opportunities for collaboration across borders. By partnering with an established organization like IQMF, the initiative aims to build a sustainable infrastructure for queer art presentation.
