ROTTERDAM – The Unwanted Words Project has announced the release of its second major publication, the Queer & Feminist Poetry Anthology Vol. II: Queer Joy & Gender Euphoria Edition. The bilingual collection, featuring works in both English and Dutch, will launch on June 6th and includes contributions from 51 LGBTQ+ poets and spoken word artists based in the Netherlands.
This new volume moves to explore celebratory and affirmative aspects of queer life. According to the publisher, the anthology is a curated space for themes of "queer joy, gender euphoria, pleasure, softness, pride, and becoming." The collection is described by its creators as a "love letter to queer existence," presenting a range of voices that are at once tender, loud, and magical.
The Unwanted Words Project has become a notable platform for queer and feminist voices in the Dutch literary landscape, consistently working to amplify underrepresented artists. This second volume builds on the foundation of their previous work, continuing to document and celebrate the diverse creative output of the community.
