DOETINCHEM – The month-long Achterhoek Pride has commenced, with the first week of June featuring a series of events aimed at fostering connection and visibility for the LGBTQ+ community in the region. The program highlights the diverse interests within the community, offering activities in various towns including Varsseveld, Doetinchem, Aalten, Lichtenvoorde, and Ruurlo.
Unlike the large-scale parades seen in major cities, Achterhoek Pride emphasizes local, grassroots engagement. The schedule for the opening week reflects this focus on community building through shared activities.

The initial lineup of events includes cultural, social, and reflective gatherings:
- Monday, June 3: A rehearsal for the 'Shansons' choir in Varsseveld.
