The festival is set to be a significant cultural highlight during WorldPride's first-ever visit to Amsterdam. The evening will be presented by comedian and presenter Carolien Borgers alongside singer-songwriter Jeangu Macrooy, who represented the Netherlands at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2021.
A Global and Local Line-up
The programme features a diverse line-up that showcases the global reach of the queer choral movement. International guests include the Gay Men's Chorus of Los Angeles, the London Gay Men's Chorus, and the G-Major Chorus from Taiwan.
The Benelux region will be well-represented, with performances from Belgium's Sing Out Brussels! and several Dutch choirs. The Netherlands' own vibrant scene will be on display with the Amsterdam Gay Men’s Chorus, Manoeuvre Gay Men’s Chorus Amsterdam, the classical ensemble Galakoor Queer Klassiek, and DynamiQ Voices from Utrecht.
Festival Format in a Classical Venue
In a departure from the venue's traditional concert format, the evening is designed as a festival where attendees can walk in and out of the Grote Zaal (Main Hall) throughout the programme. This allows for a more relaxed and fluid experience, encouraging guests to mingle and enjoy the performances at their own pace. Seating will be unassigned, offering a free choice of seats upon entry.
The four-hour event promises a celebratory atmosphere centered on the power of the human voice, providing a platform for queer artists from across the globe during one of the world's largest LGBTQ+ celebrations.
