Legal troubles escalate for performer known for his work in gay-for-pay films.
LAS VEGAS – Dawson Bacon, known professionally as Drake Von in the gay-for-pay adult film industry, is facing a significantly more severe legal situation after prosecutors added a felony robbery charge to his ongoing domestic violence case. The new charge increases his potential prison time to a maximum of 27 years if he is convicted on all felony counts.
Bacon appeared in a Clark County courtroom this week where the new charges were formally filed. In addition to the felony robbery count, a second misdemeanor charge of domestic battery was also added. These are on top of the initial charges filed earlier this month following his arrest for allegedly assaulting his girlfriend.
A Growing List of Charges
The case against Bacon now includes five counts related to the domestic incident:
- Felony Robbery
- Felony Domestic Battery by Strangulation
- Felony Coercion of Domestic Violence Using Physical Force
- Two counts of Misdemeanor Domestic Battery
Under Nevada law, a conviction for felony robbery alone can carry a sentence of up to 15 years. It is defined as taking property from another person through the use of force or violence. Details about the alleged robbery victim or whether the second battery charge involves a different person have not yet been released.
Multiple Pending Cases
This domestic violence and robbery case is just one of three separate criminal matters Bacon is currently facing in Las Vegas. His legal issues have compounded over a short period, and include:
- Driving Under the Influence (DUI): Stemming from an arrest over the past weekend.
- Traffic Offenses: A separate case includes charges for driving without a license, proof of insurance, or vehicle registration.
In total, Bacon is now facing nine different charges across the three cases. During his court appearance, he was also required to submit a DNA sample, which is standard procedure for individuals arrested on felony charges in Nevada. His DNA profile will be entered into a national FBI database.
A status update on the robbery and domestic violence case is scheduled for July 1st, but Bacon is not required to appear in court for that hearing.
