As Amsterdam prepares to host WorldPride for the first time this summer, the city municipality is making free WorldPride flags available to all residents. The initiative is designed to encourage a city-wide display of support and celebration ahead of the international event.
The flags can be collected from any Stadsloket (city service desk) location in Amsterdam. No appointment is needed; individuals can simply request a flag from the staff at the visitor's desk during opening hours.
Supply is limited, so it is advisable to collect one sooner rather than later. Each city district (stadsdeel) has been allocated a maximum of 500 flags, and they will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.
Key Details:
- What: Free WorldPride flag
- Where: Any Stadsloket in Amsterdam
- How: Request one at the visitor's desk (no appointment needed)
- Dimensions: 1 x 1.5 meters (flagpole not included)
- Availability: Maximum 500 per district, while supplies last.
The distribution comes as the city gears up for WorldPride, which is scheduled to run from July 25th to August 8th. By providing the flags, the municipality hopes to see the colours of Pride displayed from windows and balconies across all neighbourhoods, creating a welcoming atmosphere for both residents and international visitors.
