Pride Almere is continuing to build its presence as a key fixture in the Dutch LGBTQ+ calendar, with the organisation outlining a diverse program for its Pride Week in October 2026. The week-long series of events aims to serve the community in Almere and the wider Flevoland province, combining celebration with cultural programming.
What began as Winter Pride Almere has since evolved into a year-round organisation dedicated to increasing visibility and fostering an inclusive society. The 2026 Pride Week appears to be its most comprehensive offering yet, with events catering to a wide range of interests and age groups.
Pride Week 2026 Preliminary Schedule
The main events are scheduled for the first full week of October 2026, with the Kunstlinie cultural centre serving as a central hub for many of the activities.
- Wednesday, 7 October: The week kicks off with the Pride Almere Dinner, set to take place in the Burgerzaal of the City Hall.
- Friday, 9 October: The annual Pride Almere Walk will proceed through the city centre, providing a visible demonstration of community presence and solidarity. Later that evening, Kunstlinie will host the theatre performance “Beyond The Ball” by Collectief Aqueerius.
- Saturday, 10 October: The celebration continues with Het Roze Danspaleis (The Pink Dance Palace) at Kunstlinie, followed by another theatre performance, “Girls won't be Girls”.
- Sunday, 11 October: The final day focuses on family and festival fun. It begins with the children's theatre show “Het lammetje dat een varken is” (The little lamb that is a pig) for ages 4 and up. The week is expected to conclude with the Pride & Avanti Festival at Kunstlinie.
A Focus on Culture and Community
The program highlights a strong emphasis on queer performing arts. “Beyond The Ball” by Collectief Aqueerius and “Girls won't be Girls” bring contemporary queer theatre to the city. The inclusion of a children's play with a theme of identity suggests a commitment to reaching all members of the community and their families.

More Than Just One Week
Beyond its main Pride Week, the organisation remains active throughout the year. In partnership with De Nieuwe Bibliotheek Almere, Pride Almere regularly screens films with queer themes, further contributing to the cultural landscape and visibility of the LGBTQ+ community in the region.
