The call for entries is officially open for the 30th edition of Roze Filmdagen, the Netherlands' largest and longest-running LGBTQ+ film festival. Scheduled to run from March 10-21, 2027, the festival invites filmmakers from around the world to submit their work for consideration in its anniversary program.
For twelve days, the festival will take over its home base at Het Ketelhuis on the Westergasterrein in Amsterdam, with additional screenings across the way at De Krakeling theatre. Since its beginnings as a small, underground event, Roze Filmdagen has grown into a major fixture on the Dutch cultural calendar, now expecting to welcome over 10,000 visitors. The program typically features more than 140 films from approximately 40 countries, spanning romantic comedies, in-depth documentaries, and independent dramas.
The festival is seeking short films, feature films, documentaries, and animations that have a clear connection to LGBTQ+ themes, including sexual, gender, and cultural diversity. Roze Filmdagen has a particular reputation for its curated short film selections, which are often showcased at other international LGBTQ+ film festivals.
Awards and Recognition
Selected films will compete for a range of cash prizes and prestigious awards. Both a professional jury and the festival audience will present awards for Best Feature Film, Best Documentary, and Best Short Film.
